Please make sure you read the information below for all you need to know before visiting The Patch.

As the number of attendees is restricted this year due to COVID-19, tickets are limited to 10 per transaction.

One ticket is required for each person wishing to access The Patch, regardless of age. If you arrive with more people in your party than you have tickets for you will not all be given access to The Patch. Tickets will be checked prior to entry to the car park so please have your ticket or wallet QR code ready for scanning. This can be presented on your phone or printed out if required. If you do not have your ticket or QR code you will not be given access to The Patch and no refund will be given. If you are buying tickets for friends or family, you will be able to share their tickets via your Citizen Ticket account and ticket wallet.

Each ticket has a value of £1 and is redeemable against the cost of a pumpkin on The Patch. Citizen Ticket booking fees are not redeemable. You will be given a voucher once your tickets have been checked - you must present this when paying for your pumpkin so keep it safe!

Picking Session
Your ticket will be valid for the date and session displayed only. Please check your session carefully as we are restricting numbers on The Patch in response to COVID-19 and access will not be permitted on to The Patch for any other session than that for which you have booked.

How to Find Us
The Patch is located on Kilduff Farm, just outside Athelstaneford in East Lothian. The postcode for Kilduff Farm is EH39 5BD. Access to The Patch is from the B1343. The Patch and parking will be clearly signposted so you shouldn't miss it.

Arrival and Departure
Your ticket gives you access to The Patch for two hours. You will be permitted access to the car park no earlier than 15 minutes before your session is due to begin and you must leave The Patch and car park within 15 minutes after the end of the session. A horn will sound to alert you of when your session has ended.

This is an outdoor event and The Patch will be open for pumpkin picking even if it is cold and wet. We will only close The Patch if it is unsafe for visitors or if we are forced to close due to COVID-19 restrictions. We will make the decision to close The Patch as early as possible on the day and will aim to have made the decision at least one hour before your picking session is due to begin. You must check your email and our social media before leaving for any updates from us.

The Patch is in a field, in Scotland, in October. Please make sure you dress warmly and wear waterproofs if it rain is forecast. We recommend you wear wellies or sturdy boots. The Patch can get very muddy so suitable footwear is absolutely necessary.

We are following Government guidance on COVID-19 in relation to outdoor events. We have restricted numbers accessing The Patch in line with guidance and we will be adopting strict cleaning, sanitising and social distancing protocols on The Patch. Please follow all guidance and directions from our staff and Government guidance on social distancing.

Please note that your contact details will be stored and may be shared in line with NHS Scotland's Track and Trace programme.

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable, unless we are forced to close The Patch for reasons out with our control. If we are forced to close The Patch, you will be offered a refund but due to restrictions on numbers we regret that we are unable to transfer your ticket to another picking session.

Parking is in a grass paddock. The paddock may get wet and muddy. Please make sure you follow the directions of our staff so that everyone is kept safe. There is no parking on any roads surrounding the farm. Please let our staff know if you have any mobility issues and they will direct you to a parking space as close to The Patch as possible.

Access on Foot, Bike or Public Transport
If you are planning to access the Patch on foot or by public transport please access the farm from the main drive and follow directions of parking staff.

Dogs are not permitted on The Patch, with the exception of assistance dogs.

Only refreshments bought on The Patch may be consumed on The Patch.

There will be portable toilets on The Patch. These will be cleaned regularly but not after each use. Please use the hand sanitiser provided. Due to the nature of the event we regret that we are unable to provide accessible toilets.

We accept cash and cards on The Patch but encourage the use cards this year due to COVID-19.

The Patch is located in a field on a working farm. We have had pumpkin pickers in buggies, wheelchairs and on crutches, but due to the natural elements of the event we cannot always guarantee accessibility. Please contact us in advance or speak to a member of staff if you require any assistance accessing The Patch and we will endeavor to do all we can to help.

Looking After Your Pumpkins
Pumpkins are a natural living thing and as such can rot or be damaged. Refunds will not be given for damaged or rotten pumpkins so please make sure you treat your pumpkin with respect and follow guidance on how best to store pumpkins. If you want your pumpkin to last until Halloween we recommend leaving it as close to Halloween as possible before carving and store in a cool, dry place.
